The West Harlem Art Fund and Pratt Digital Media are bringing resources to Northern Manhattan and Northern Manhattan artists and using digital technology to spotlight our local assets. All of Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood have beautiful waterfronts, bridges, viaducts, tunnels, parks and even elevated subways that are overlooked. Most people talk about our brownstones and built avenues but we have natural beauty uptown with structures that are interlocked with our rivers and landscape.

That is how the series Under the Viaduct was born. The West Harlem Art Fund realized that the 12th Avenue viaduct could be used as an outdoor venue for public art events and installations. It functions as a natural canopy which links Riverside Drive together and connects residents and NYers going to the Hudson River.

The West Harlem Art Fund is grateful to Pratt for understanding our vision and to NYC Department of Transportation for supporting us.
