In conjunction with City of Water Day, the West Harlem Art Fund has reached out to the Inwood Canoe Club and have asked to have kayak demos at West Harlem Piers. Trying to generate more waterfront activities that would engage local residents, this demo is the beginning for a possible club. Participants must be able to swim, wear life jackets and sign a waiver.
The Inwood Canoe Club is a noncommercial organization that promotes kayaking and canoeing on the Hudson River and the Harlem River in the Inwood neighborhood of Northern Manhattan, New York City.
The mission of ICC is to promote safe human-powered boating on the Hudson River and other waters and to engage in and encourage land and water stewardship of a portion of the Upper Manhattan Hudson River. Through our public programs, we provide the community with a safe way to enjoy the River and promote recreation, sportsmanship and water safety.
ICC is a Paddle America Club of the American Canoe Association.
