VICTORIA ESTOK is an artist and environmental worker exploring how sound and voice affect our perception and decision making. Driven by intuition and curiosity, she has found and lost herself in numerous institutions, organizations, national parks, and libraries around the world. An advocate and scholar of non-traditional education she wholeheartedly believes in deconstructing authority and questioning power. In her work she takes a playful and poetic approach using installations, interventions, and compositions to ask listeners to reexamine what they give their attention to. She currently teaches sound art in New Media at Purchase College.
RYAN PRATT is currently pursuing the DMA in composition at Columbia University, where he also teaches Music Humanities. Stemming from an early interest in improvisation and percussion, Pratt’s music explores literal and metaphorical notions of limit and measurement, most often obscuring regularity in time, meter, while at the same time tapping the spectral potential of the instrumental-performer medium uniquely in each piece. He has most recently written for local New York City based ensembles such as Ensemble Pamplemousse, Wet Ink, Ekmeles, and Yarn/Wire. And has participated in several summer festivals at home and abroad in Croatia, France, Germany, and Finland.
